Members of Glengormley Methodist Church’s Friendship Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary next week.

The group will meet at the Glencairn Drive church on Monday, September 27 to enjoy a lunch together and commemorate the major milestone.

Speaking to the Times, the group’s secretary, Yvonne Armstrong said: “Back in 1971 it was started as The Over 21 Club but as the wrinkles and grey hair took over the name was changed to the Friendship Club.
