Ballyclare High girls excel at football sevens tournament

The seven-aside festival, which was staged at Mid Ulster Sports Arena, saw the Rashee Road school’s Under 15 side play six games, winning three and drawing three. Across the day they scored 12 goals and conceded three.
Meanwhile, the Under 13 side played four matches, winning three and one loss. They scored a total of 10 goals and conceded three.

Commenting after the tournament, teacher, Miss Murray said: “This event is superbly organised by the Irish Football Association (IFA) each year and we can’t thank them enough for the opportunity for so many girls getting to play short small sided games to learn more about the game.
"We had a range of experience playing from those new to the game to those who are playing weekly club football.”
