Trust celebrates ‘hidden heroes’ on national healthcare estates & facilities day

These teams play an indispensable role in ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of patients and service users and are the backbone of our healthcare system.

From maintaining buildings, cleaning environments, preparing and serving food, laundering bedding and clothing, decontaminating theatre instruments, removing waste, transporting patients and equipment, to offering spiritual and pastoral care, Patient Experience and Estates staff are often the faces of Health and Social Care, supporting people during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

By ensuring that hospital sites and facilities are well-maintained and operational, Estates staff help healthcare professionals to focus on delivering quality patient care, ultimately supporting the health and well-being of the community.

In recognition of their exceptional contributions, the Trust distributed appreciation bags to both Patient Experience and Estates staff across both hospital and community sites.

Assistant Director of Patient Experience, Jeff Thompson said: “I wish to express my sincere thanks to Patient Experience staff. Their hard work and dedication is essential to the quality care that we provide.

"National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the wonderful work that they all do.”
