Major improvement works ready to start in Magherafelt
Some small scale investigative work starts next week (15 February), while the contractors, FP McCann, will be on Market Street and Broad Street from Monday 29 February when the main work to enhance the town centre with new paving, lighting, street furniture, signage and planting will begin.
At the same time, NIE will also be at work in the town, carrying out upgrades to the network, with this work expected to last several weeks.

Hide AdMagherafelt will be the third town in Mid Ulster to benefit from public realm investment.
Councillor Linda Dillon, Chair of the Council, welcomed the work getting underway:
“The beginning of this work is a milestone for Magherafelt and I’m very pleased that the town is going to benefit from this level of investment which is intended to enhance the look and feel of the town centre, and in turn, its appeal as a shopping destination.
“As always, we remain committed to maintaining access to the town centre at all times, and to continuing to work with our businesses and residents to ensure the works go smoothly and are completed by the end of the year”.
