Waterside pair bailed after drugs factory bust

The 31 year old man and 34 year old woman were arrested following the drugs raid in the Eastbank of the city on Friday night.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said that a large quantity of cannabis plants were seized in the drugs raid.

Hide AdThe police also indicated that the operation had been planned.
Police carried out a proactive search at a house in the area just after 9pm and a cannabis factory with around 35 plants was found in the attic of the building.
The PSNI said the man and woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and of cultivating class B drugs with the intention of supplying those drugs.
Londonderry PSNI Inspector Rosemary Thompson stated: “A 31 year old man and 34 year old woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply, cultivating cannabis and being concerned in the supply of a class B controlled drug.
“Both currently remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”
The man and the woman were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
