Lisburn woman warned by judge to stay out of trouble for six months

A Lisburn woman has been warned by a judge to stay out of trouble for the next six months.

She appeared before Lisburn Magistrates Court charged with possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis.

The court heard that police had attended an address in Lisburn following a concern for safety report.

Believing the defendant, Michelle Louise Sharpe (51), whose address was given as Young Street in Lisburn, to be in breach of her bail conditions she was arrested and conveyed to custody. Whilst in custody a search was carried out and 4.8g of cannabis was found in her possession.

Defence told the court: “She was arrested for breach of bail and then it was discovered she wasn’t actually on bail when the detection was made.”

District Judge Rosie Watters, who said the defendant was “skating on thin ice”, deferred sentencing for six months until April 22, 2027.

She told the defendant: “If you get into any more trouble I will take a dim view.”
